{"id":193,"date":"2026-06-23T12:03:34","date_gmt":"2026-06-23T12:03:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/padraigcorrigan.com\/?p=193"},"modified":"2026-06-23T12:07:38","modified_gmt":"2026-06-23T12:07:38","slug":"man-pleads-guilty-to-exposing-himself-to-hospital-staff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/padraigcorrigan.com\/index.php\/2026\/06\/23\/man-pleads-guilty-to-exposing-himself-to-hospital-staff\/","title":{"rendered":"Man pleads guilty to exposing himself to hospital staff"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>This article was originally written in October 2025.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A man has admitted exposing himself to staff at the Causeway Hospital in Coleraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cathal Feeney, with an address in the Belfast area, yesterday [20\/10\/2025] pled guilty to one charge of exposure at the North Antrim Magistrates Court in Coleraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The court heard that the 39-year-old had been escorted to the Causeway Hospital on 28October 2024 by prison guards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While there, he exposed his penis to hospital staff on three occasions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prosecuting counsel stated that Feeney complained to staff that he \u201chad a sore penis\u201d and asked them to \u201cput gel on it\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hospital staff observed that Feeney \u201cappeared to be playing with himself\u201d. He was given three warnings to stop but failed to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Standing in the dock, Feeney pled guilty to the charge of exposure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Defence counsel James Carson agreed with District Judge Peter King that a pre-sentencing report was required before the defendant could be sentenced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Judge King stated that he would favour an outcome which would allow Feeney to receive \u201csome help in the community\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sentencing was deferred until 1 December when the court will receive the pre-sentencing report.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This article was originally written in October 2025.
